Project Description

This post is an information update for Here and Now performance art events for July, August and September.

July p(art)y Here and Now

Our next p(art)y Here and Now is Saturday 27th July and we are moving to The Old Schoolhouse, Connaught Road, Scarriff.

For the summer we wanted to move around Co Clare and access different spaces. This allows us to perform in a different space with a different ambience and atmosphere, and hopefully allows people to come along who might not otherwise be able to for geographical reasons. Please see the image above and details below:

Date: Saturday 27 July

Time: 3.45 – 5pm

Venue: The Old Schoolhouse, Connaught Road, Scarriff. V94KDH4

Cost: €5 contribution towards venue rental would be appreciated.

Parking: parking is available on the main road opposite the Old Schoolhouse.

What exactly is p(art)y Here and Now?

The event is planned as a one hour live performance art event, during which time we will all perform in the same space, at the same time. We will all start at the same time and finish at the same time.

By ‘perform’ we mean that you are free to create or express yourself in any way you should choose. Sometimes it is easier to describe performance as an artistic intention. You are free to behave in an intentionally artistic creative way for the duration of the hour-long event.

There will be a lot of different ways that participants might choose to perform. Some of the artists participating will be making sound art, using equipment. Others may choose to bring props, or particular outfits to wear and to use as they perform. Others will be performing through movement and/or dance, or vocally. If you have a specific performative intention you wish to carry out, that is fine. Our goal is that we all work together in the same space for the hour duration, and see what entails.
